Here I Am: Zeki Müren

Zeki Müren’s photographs and personal items that have stayed in the Turkish Education Foundation and the Turkish Armed Forces Mehmetçik Foundation archives for eighteen years are on display at the Here I Am: Zeki Müren exhibition. Close to 10,000 photographs -some still as vibrant as though they were shot yesterday, others long lost the battle against the exhaustion of years, drawings, costumes, records, poems, notes and archive images are compiled to document a life lived to the full. The artist himself classified only a minor fraction of this vast collection; the rest are undated and lack explanatory notes.
